"AND the Word of the Lord came unto me saying: Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief Prince of Mesech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say: Thus saith the Lord God, Behold I am against thee, 0 Gog . . ." (Ezekiel 38:1-3)

Thus reads the opening verses of the well-known Russian chapters of Ezekiel, with their graphic description of age-ending events now so rapidly reaching fulfillment. The coming descent of this northern colossus upon the nations of Europe is highlighted by the Old Testament prophets. The climax as the shores of Anglo-Saxon Israel are approached is well worth investigation from these very scriptures. In this article we deal with only two of the identifying terms -- Gog and Magog.

THE WORD "GOG" MEANS "GIGANTIC"

Gog is with a long ''O" in both Hebrew and Greek, and comes from an old word-root "GG," which in early languages applied to something "gigantic." Russia has long been building into the colossus of the north, and her potential is now a by-word among the other nations.

A potentate of Bible history and prophecy was Agag. The name or title comes from the same root-word and means "great." This man was in his own estimation great. The Agagites, according to Young's Analytical Concordance, were of the Amalekite tribes and Agag a poetic name for Amalek. We read in Numbers 24: 7: "His kingdom shall be higher than Agag," this probably referring to modern Russia. Amalek was one of two nations descended from Esau (Esau was red), the other, Teman, can be traced today to the Ottoman Empire embracing Turkey and surrounding countries. The reference to "the Land of Gog" is rather to the regime than to geographic area. Many atlases identify this area with southern Russia.

THE LAND OF MAGOG IDENTIFIED

From the borders of Poland and Lithuania to Kamchatka and Vladivostok, the so-called Russian people are either pure or mixed Mongolian, for, as we shall see, Russia, or Magog, is Mongolia. This term has nothing to do with the generic designation of the "yellow" races.

M'Gog, as a geographic term, was used by the Hebrews of old and is used by the Arabs today as Majui. It denotes the vast stretch of country to the north of the Black Sea, Caucasus, Caspian Sea. Hindu-Kush and Altai, better known to Greek geographers as Skythia, and to ourselves as the Russian Empire in Europe and Asia.

Magog was the second son of Japheth, and the Arabs of the middle ages appropriated his name under the form Majuj, relating to the vast inner recesses of Europe and Asia. In a map published in 1840 all the territory between the Don in European Russia and the Altai Mountains in the heart of Siberia is assigned to the descendants of Magog.

The word "mongolian" is frequently used to define the whole population of inner and northern Asia. The mongol is Japhetic in origin. In the Indian language the word "mongol" is "mongou"; sometimes the ending MGG or MNG is introduced. According to this tongue the words "mangul" and "magog" are one and the same.

THE CHINESE ARE INCLUDED

The former province of Manchuria was peopled from Mongolia. Between 1850 and 1860 Russia absorbed 150,000 square miles of the Manchurian territory, and since then 100,000 square miles more. These incursions into Manchuria have given Russia a quarter-million square miles of the Land of Magog. The empire of Attila the Hun included most of the peopled areas of European Russia.

In A.D. 1224 Mongol hordes poured over Russia under Genghiz Khan. They bore the specific name of Mongol. For 200 years Russia was mongolized from end to end; even the Mongol tent formed a basis for architecture right through to the days of Peter the Great.

DESCENDING ON THE FREE WORLD

To sum up, the whole Asian-Soviet empire now governed by the Bolshevist minority is saturated with Mongol blood and custom. Russia (Rosh of the prophecies of Ezekiel) is none other than the Gog (gigantic) and Magog (land of the Mongols). As prophesied in these amazing chapters of the Bible, this people is descending on the free world, over-running, crushing ruthlesly, absorbing and destroying any other nation that intervenes in her plan for world domination.

The conclusions to these prophecies are worthy of our keen consideration.
