WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe that the Bible is the infallible word of God. (2 Tim 3:16)

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. (John 1: 14-17, Matt 3: 17)

We believe in the Gospel of His death, in His resurrection, and the directive to repent,be baptised and receive the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2)

We believe we are baptised into the Body of Christ (the Church), through the Holy Spirit, with the Bible evidence of speaking in tongues. (Romans 6: 3-4, 1Corinth 1&13)

We believe in the miraculous manifestations of the Holy Spirit in the Church. (1 Corinth. 12)

We believe in prayer for the sick and healing by the power of God (James 5: 13-16)

WE believe the Bible identifies the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic peoples with the nation Israel and recounts the movements of modern nations. (Numbers 24: 8-9, Genesis 35, Isaiah 40)

We believe the Bible indicates these days as the latter days and clearly indicates the soon return of Jesus Christ in this period. (1 Thess 5:1-3, 2 Peter 3:9-11)

SALVATION

1 WHAT IS SALVATION?

*Man is mortal (subject to death) "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God". (Rom 3:23).

*God is immortal (not subject to death). (1 Tim 1:17)

*The offer of salvation (deliverance from our mortality) is obtained through Christ Jesus with the reward of eternal glory.

2 HOW DOES ONE RECEIVE SALVATION?

*By obeying the direction God gives to repent, to be baptised in water and to receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38, 3:19)

3 WHEN DOES SALVATION COME?

*When individuals are "born again". The receiving of the Holy Spirit with the Biblical evidence of "speaking in tongues" is the manifestation of the "born-again" experience. (John 3:5; 1 Cor 14:14).

4 HOW DOES ONE KNOW ONE IS SAVED?

*And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance...and the Lord added to the Church daily such as should be saved. (Acts 2:4 and 47).

* . . .whom ye also trusted after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 1:13.

5 WHERE DOES ONE RECEIVE SALVATION?

*Anywhere !

*But certainly where the gospel is faithfully preached and the commandments of God, relating to salvation, are explained thoroughly.

SALVATION AND THE GIFT OF TONGUES

The Bible demonstrates that the "Gift of Tongues" is an integral part of the man of God and the Church. There is ample evidence given that the individual seeking salvation will pass through repentance, water baptism and the receiving of the Holy Spirit. The sign of "speaking in tongues" accompanied those receiving the Holy Spirit. A unique and peculiar sign explained by the apostle Paul as a sign to "unbelievers and certainly meaningless to the "unlearned" and "unbelievers"(l Cor 14:23).

Again we are reminded by the apostle Paul, that just as in the Old Testament, God has laid down a "pattern" for the New Testament. God said to Moses, "according to all that I shew thee after the pattern of the Tabernacle and the pattern of all the instruments thereof even so shall ye make it" (Exodus 25:9)

King David also respected the blueprint given him by God. "All this", said David, "the Lord made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern. (1 Chronicles 28:19) The Temple was blueprinted by the Lord.

The apostle Paul warned, "...mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine (pattern) which ye have learned and avoid (reject) them." (Romans 16:17)

Where that pattern is breached divisions and schisms are inevitable. Indeed the detail given in both Old and New Testament is to ensure that the picture is complete and not to be misunderstood; added to; or subtracted from.

The New Testament with its new Covenant and new High Priest is based on the principles of the old Covenant, with the oneness accentuated, one Lord, one hope, one Spirit, one faith etc...

Even simple Bible statements have added meaning in the light of spiritual manifestation. "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh. (Matthew 12:34) This includes the "abundant" life promised by the Holy Spirit. The ability to "speak in tongues" certainly identifies the full gospel experience.

The tongue, we read, is an unruly, and quite often "poisonous" member. With it we pray, we sing psalms, we preach, witness, testify and prophesy. Conversion of the man, converts the tongue. Speaking in tongues, interpreting and prophesying is another way we are "used" in worship.

"A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but a perverseness therein is a breach of spirit." (Proverbs 15:4)

It is interesting to note that anyone or everyone could represent the Lord with their own natural oratory, but it was God's choice and pattern to identify His presence through the manifestation of "tongues". Signs, such as miracles and healing proved God's presence among the people, but speaking in tongues proved God's presence IN the people.
