WELCOME TO THE REVIVAL CENTRES
The day you heard the gospel was the best day of your life. A believer's life is exciting, happy, and miraculous. Although you might not realise it yet, your new experience has the potential to change your life and make you a different and better person than you ever imagined. We believe God can do anything. His only constraint, imposed by Himself, is that He operates according to His word. Our assembly members will testify that their lives have been totally transformed by the power of God. Therefore your new faith and experience are the most important things in your life. Make them your first priority.
God's gifts to believers include total deliverance, prosperity, and peace. He has given us the Holy Spirit with the accompanying gifts of speaking in other tongues, healing for the sick, guidance, protection, peace, and strength when we are in trouble. He has given meaning and purpose to the lives of Spirit-filled believers.
In our assemblies you will meet people who have seen and experienced the transforming power of God in outstanding ways, including total and instantaneous deliverance from drug addiction and alcoholism, and miraculous healing of many diseases, some of which were apparently incurable. Others have had their marriages restored, families reunited, and personalities reshaped by the Holy Spirit.
Revival meetings are happy, positive, and uplifting. Spirit filled people are friendly and will make you feel welcome. You will be encouraged by the testimonies, preaching, and the spiritual gifts, and uplifted by the singing and prayer as we praise the Lord together. The Bible teaches that our faith is built by hearing the word of God. The combined effect of each meeting is to teach us about the things of God and to increase our faith, making us stronger. Meetings are also for visitors. Naturally we want them to see that we are thrilled by our faith, and can offer them the same totally satisfying experience that we have received. That is why it is so important to support the meetings.
The Church is the members, united by the vision and experience we share and by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is not the building in which meetings are held nor the name on the door. In fact, many of our assemblies do not own a permanent place of worship.
Our only purpose is To do God's will. That is, to Preach the gospel to the lost, and to I love and support one another. We are entirely evangelical. We believe that the Lord will soon return, and we urgently warn the lost to seek the Lord while they are able. We are modelled on the Bible Church. Our organization, meetings, and doctrines are based on the teaching and practice of the early Church. We have no definitive document other than the Bible, and do not add to it our own traditions and ideas.
We do not believe we are the only Church; we do not endorse personalities, nor give our leaders special spiritual status; we do not solicit money from the general public; we are open and not exclusive.
Since the first meetings of our fellowship, held in Melbourne, Australia, about forty years ago, our message has reached around the world, with assemblies established in a number of countries. The largest concentration of churches is in Australia and New Zealand; however, we are represented in Britain, Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa, and the Pacific. In all there are over a hundred assemblies.
Our missions are growing strongly. We are delighted and proud to see the Lord bless our missions in Papua-New Guinea, Fiji, and Africa. All our missions are successfully led and administered by local people. The infallible word of God is our basis and inspiration.
We believe that the Bible has been inspired, preserved, and empowered by God, and that it has spiritual significance and power because of God's anointing on it. SOME FACTS ABOUT THE BIBLE ARE:
The Bible is accurate and consistent with the historical record. Bible sites and references have been confirmed by modern archaeologists.
Bible prophecies have been fulfilled with amazing accuracy throughout history. Many of our members previously were adherents to mainstream churches, and we do not wish to be critical of individuals, nor to appear arrogant nor self-righteous; however, we do not support mainstream churches nor their teachings.
AMONG THE REASONS ARE:
Failure to adhere to the scripture as a basis for teaching and faith.
The addition of human traditions and humanistic thinking to their doctrine.
At a recent conference of clergymen 70% stated they did not believe that Jesus was resurrected from the dead. The denial of the power of God and of spiritual gifts, including opposition to the Pentecostal infilling with the Holy Spirit.
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit is a significant worldwide phenomenon involving many millions of people. This revival has been spontaneous and very widely spread, and as a result there are many Pentecostal denominations and a huge variability in doctrine and practice. Sadly, while we hope the Lord will bless them, we do not support Pentecostal works generally. In the main they have remained in fellowship with mainstream religions, and do not always teach the significance of the Holy Spirit experience, which is an absolute requirement for salvation.
The Bible instructs that we should not live as unbelievers do, but uphold standards of righteousness in our lives.
HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES:
Swearing, cursing, and blasphemy are common in our society, but do not glorify God. Christians should not speak in a coarse nor smutty way.
Christians do not smoke, drink, nor take drugs. The Bible teaches that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and that we should honor God with our bodies. Some people have problems with these things when they are initially saved, but complete deliverance is promised and expected.
We do not condone sex outside marriage. The scripture is very clear about this and dogmatically condemns sexual immorality as unrighteous.
We aspire to positive Christian qualities. The attitudes and priorities of God's people are different from those in the general community. Jesus Christ demonstrated a different (spiritual) way of living and thinking.
The qualities we admire and aspire to are these:
Moral Courage; To stand up and be counted for the Lord, and to do what the Bible says is right.
Positive Speech: To have a faithful and positive attitude.
Honesty: To be straightforward, careful, and honest.
Compassion: To reach out to others with generosity and understanding to demonstrate God's love and lead them to Christ.
Faith, Strength, Boldness, Love, and Humility are also important Christian qualities.
Thankfully becoming a Christian is not like joining a monastery. It is a joyful, busy, varied, productive way of life. It is also completely satisfying. Certainly you will meet more people, and go to more places than you anticipated. In the last year some members of our fellowship have walked through the jungle tracks of New Guinea to attend baptisms in the bush, travelled to North America in a group to support a fledgling Church there, and flown around the world to meet with pastors and leaders in many countries. Locally there is an ongoing program of camps, conventions, outings, and outreaches that would exhaust an Olympic athlete. This is quite apart from the day-by-day adventure of seeing God answer your prayers and confirm your testimony.
Enjoy this wonderful life. Live in the Spirit, praying every day and meditating on the word of God. Take every opportunity to fellowship within the assembly and give your enthusiastic support to every meeting and activity you reasonably can. Never miss a chance to tell others about the things the Lord is doing.
We are special people, called by God, and filled with His power through the Holy Spirit. We have been appointed to do His will, sent as messengers to the lost and as soldiers for the truth. If we can be faithful in these small things a glorious future awaits us with the Lord in Glory.
